Graphic design and branding has existed many years longer than the modern business. Family crests were an early form of branding and graphic design. In today’s design world, they have come back with a kick. Many businesses want to appear hip to the times and will opt for a “grungy” type logo that has a hint of classic design in it often mimicking the look of family crests or an old pub sign.
This new design styles is birthed form today’s youth trying desperately to find their own wings, to break free of the grunge of the 70, but hold tight to their roots.
The neo-grunge style is often times overwhelming to an older generation, but to the younger 20 something crowd who have been overwhelmed with stimuli from birth neo-grunge is almost soothing.
When considering a logo or feel for your company you must take into consideration your target audience, and though the neo-grunge style may not be to your personal taste if you are trying to attract a younger crowd it may be the best answer.
Above are two of our recent examples of this grunge style. The first was designed to attract a young college aged group to a local bible study. Within two weeks of displaying two banner-stand (80x31” upright banners) the group nearly doubled in size.
